Where Did I Start My PPC?


I’ve been planning a lot to write about my Internship in GO-optimisation, however I have to say it is not easy to make a conclusion at the moment. Because the time isn’t right, which means I need time to logically and objectively review this experience. Therefore, I decide to put some photos I’ve worked on for GO. I also believe these images in some way can represent my feeling about this moth’s experience in a more direct view.

Google Adwords Individual Qualification


Eventually, I gained an opportunity of working in PPC, SEO sectors for myself to really explore my passion and idea in social media sector. It is a long process to find a profound starting point to sincerely fit in and obtain as much knowledge as I can, and to really participate into projects with the feeling of intense and exited challenge and self-improvement.

Now I am starting the preparation of Google AdWords IQ exam, one of Google certification exams. The inspiration of doing this was gave by Communispace and was enhanced by Go-Optimisation. The former one is US leading social media research company and the other one is UK growing PPC, SEO and Digital Marketing consultancy, both focus on providing complete digital marketing service with analytical research support.

The interesting thing I found out up to now through out my early stage preparation is that in China Google AdWords IQ exams are not as popular as in west world’s social media sector. The SEO sector started being accepted by the Chinese market since 2003. Up to now, it has been experiencing the very unstable developing path, the main reason is because the lack of talent in SEO sector. To be simple, in China the majority of the marketers have realised the importance of digital marketing age especially the impact of the fast development in digital marketing on brand building, account management and so on. On the other hand, in west world SEO started much early since 1998 and become stably developed. Hence, the environment of SEO sector in west world is more well organised and professional which at the same time allows the growing of the talent. Since Chinese SEO sector is still restricted from industrial structure limitation and policy support, it leads to series of results. First, the lack of attention on SEO research and analytical skill training makes digital marketing be hungry for the talents; Second, the lack of talents makes the sector less regular and potentially stimulate blind competition in the sector which finally draw down the speed and scale of the development in SEO market.

However, I believe there is a deep need from the private sector in Chinese market for SEO service to develop their business. Private sector in Chinese market has contribute 65% to the growth of Chinese economy, occupying 41% in GDP since 1998. Therefore, it is becoming the main force in Chinese market and they need innovation and development in their marketing methodology. Who are going to fit in these needs?

Obviously, the west professionals are the best supplier for these needs. However, at the same time, the language, culture and industrial structure difference make the west professionals feel curious about this new land-China market, as well as confused. Culture fusion and culture interaction are never easy for East and West. But what I want to say here is that TRUST is a pretty good starting point for market adventures who want to discover more in Chinese market and expand their digital marketing strategies toward a global direction. Trust the fundamental needs of the market in no matter where would be similar and trust people in China they are becoming more eager for professional training than ever, because the labour market has been developed along with the economic development in China.

As a person keen on SEO, PPC and analytical business also with a Chinese culture background, I believe it will be very interesting to be a bridge between the East and the West, and the absolute starting point is Google AdWords IQ!
